" The origin "

Irene Goikolea Uriarte is the founder of the Amalurra Hotel as well as the whole Community Project to whom she is been dedicated the last ten years of her life. It is something that on the beginning could have been considered an utopia but today it is already a reality. It was about to find a place where a few families could set a residence and make possible a different kind of life style, conjugating somehow, the family life with the group project, a collectif project and in this way, recreate one of the most intrinsic values of the basque tradition wich is the brotherhood. This is how in 1998, the Amalurra Community was borned as a platform to develop that spirit of solidarity which in the old days used to be practiced through the support and the teamwork, proper to the country farms.

Four years later this Community has served as a setting for the birth of the Amalurra Hotel which has the purpose to keep the house open to everyone that wishes to know about another kind of life style in a place where above all you can find peace and tranquillity.
